Why would this man do this?

A sixty-year-old man, while he was watching Tv, discovered he had a brother that ne never had known. The brother moved in another country when he was 20 and became a very rich business man. But the man decided not to meet him.

He might have got an untreatable illness and knew that he would die soon. So he wouldn't meet his brother. If he met his brother, his brother might have tried to treat him and might have felt sorry for him.
